FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As one of their biggest expenditures people typically have a plenty of questions before makingany decisions , listed here are a number of the most common ones…

Unless you’re a certified contractor, the majority of roofing jobs should not be undertaken yourself. Also bear in mind that almost all manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair won’t warranty those items unless a certified professional performs the work. Something else to remember is that working on a roof could be very risky, so is it really worth risking your health in order to save money?

It would be fantastic if we could give you a straight forward response to this question! However, there actually is no single answer that fits all for each question like that. There are so many unique products readily available and each and every one will have its own benefits and disadvantages. To figure out which is the right roof for you, you should have an expert come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they see, your roof design, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely is dependent on the type of roof and what evaluations are required. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we cannot work on a number of days then this will definitely add more time to the job. A small home might take around a week or so, whereas more substantial commercial projects may be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just be sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Given that your roof is always subjected to the weather, it means your roof is will break down over time. The rate at which it breaks down will be dependent on a number of variables. These include; the quality of the initial components used and the workmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is preserved and the style of the roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but obviously that can never be promised due to the above factors. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should not ever pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of washing away any covering minerals that have been included to give protection from the elements. Furthermore, you really should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they could also diminish the lifespan of your roof. When you talk to your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will get rid of the unsightly algae and yellowing without destroying the tile or shingles.
