Herb Freezer Cubes (Recipe Prep!)


Ingredients

  • Fresh herbs: whatever you have on hand or have extras of!
  • Some ideas: basil, sage, rosemary, garlic, cilantro, parsley, mint, etc.
  • Olive oil or water

Directions

  1. Roughly chop herbs and add about 1 tablespoon (maybe 2 depending on the herb) to each individual space in an ice cube tray.
  2. Fill the tray with olive oil or water. (if using water you can drop these “ice cubes” into water to infuse it! (could also add frozen citrus fruit cubes or berry cubes to add some more flavor, get creative!)
  3. Freeze for 1-3 hours until the cubes are fully frozen. Remove from ice cube tray and store in a freezer safe ziploc bag or food container for future use in recipes or infused water.

Nutrition Information:

Depends on what type of oil (or if oil was used) used in making the cubes. Generally, 1 tablespoon of olive oil has 119 calories and 14g of fat in it if you are using 1 cube to add into a recipe.

*As said above these are great for recipes, cut down time prepping herbs, and can be used in infused water!
