1 lb of ground turkey (or use ground chicken or lean ground beef)
Jarred tomato sauce (look for low sodium and low sugar kinds)
1 lb whole grain pasta noodles (or bean/veggie noodles!)
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Seasonings: salt and pepper, italian seasoning, garlic powder (or minced garlic), etc.
Add vegetables: diced carrots, onions, etc. (if you’d like)
Directions
Cook ground turkey on medium heat in a large skillet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and salt and pepper to taste. Add a large saucepan with water in it to high heat for boiling water.
Once the ground turkey is cooked, turn heat to low or simmer and add in the jarred tomato sauce and other seasonings (if using).
Once the water is boiling add the whole grain pasta to the large saucepan and cook until al dente (or the pasta noodles are thoroughly cooked).
