It can't be driven on public roads, but an Aston Martin DB10 that was built for James Bond has still sold for ?2,434,500 at a charity auction hosted by Christie's in London. While those previous Bond cars were production models modified with revolving number plates and hidden machine guns, the DB10 was developed specifically for the world's most famous secret agent to use in the recent movie SPECTRE, with just 10 examples built and none of them available to buy until now.
Under its bespoke carbon-fibre body, the DB10 is based on the chassis from Aston Martin’s smallest sports car, the Vantage, with suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes from the upgraded S model, and a naturally aspirated, 4.7-litre V8 engine under the bonnet. Meanwhile, the leather- and Alcantara-trimmed interior features buttons to select sport mode and vary the firmness of the suspension, controls for the radio and phone and, nice touch, a fingerprint reader.
Unfortunately, while the car runs (it has an estimated top speed of 190mph) it isn't road legal because it hasn't been type approved (crash tested, etc). What's more, the contract of sale specifically stipulates that its new owner cannot modify it to get it personally approved for road use. The Aston Martin DB10 is one of 10 items of memorabilia from SPECTRE that were auctioned this evening, with all the proceeds going to Medecins Sans Frontieres and other charitable organisations. Some items that proved to be slightly more affordable than the Aston were the gold octopus ring worn by Christoph Waltz's character, Franz Oberhauser (sold for ?26,000), the Longines and Omega wrist watches of Ralph Fiennes's M and Daniel Craig's Bond (?16,000 and ?75,000 respectively) and the Tom Ford dinner suit worn by Bond (?22,000).
Designed by Peter Foggo of Arup Associates, the metallic and glazed exterior of 1-3 Finsbury Avenue is overlaid with a tracery of external walkways, solar shading and diagonal rods, whilst spiralling upwards are cylinders enclosing the secondary staircases. Broadgate is a 30 acre fully managed estate in the heart of London's Square Mile, owned in a 50:50 joint venture with British Land and GIC.
The Lamborghini Centenario has been revealed in a picture posted on social media by a London-based car news website.

The Centenario was also unofficially pictured ahead of the Geneva motor show, on an Italian photographer's social media page.
The ?1.64 million Centenario is due for its official debut at the Geneva motor show, but the image shows the car in full. From the patent images, the car appears to feature styling that builds upon that of the Huracan, with the archetypal wedge-shape and a blacked-out roof.
The rear light clusters are incorporated into a full-width light bar with Lamborghini’s trademark chevron light motifs at the end of the bar, with three central exhausts above an extreme diffuser, which extends from below the car to behind the light clusters. It is believed that a tweaked version of the 690bhp 6.5-litre V12 also used in the Aventador will be employed, albeit in a 759bhp guise for the Centenario. Only 40 Centenario models will be made – 20 coupes and 20 convertibles, and all have already found homes. As long as it gets on the Road looking like the Yellow design i'll be happy, the others are just over styled in my opinion. The 488's incredible engine and handling and open-top experience make for something very special indeed. The Isuzu D-Max is starting to show its age; after a drive in the range-topping Blade version, is it still competitive? However, even by the standards of a Golfinger DB5 or Casino Royale DBS, the DB10 is a bit special.

The image follows the discovery of patent images, filed in October 2015, which reveal the design of the car from multiple angles. Long overhangs extend in front and behind the wheels, to incorporate the slim front-end and rear diffuser. In spite of this, more specific details are under strict wraps, and aren’t expected to be revealed until the car’s Geneva show debut. The Centenario name isn’t officially confirmed yet, although Lamborghini boss Stephan Winkelmann revealed that a name has been decided upon.
What does this 567bhp range-topping brute have to offer, seeing as it costs more than ?100,000? The bushes are designed using internal fluid reservoirs to reduce stiffness at lower speeds (when most track damage was occurring) and increase stiffness at higher speeds to maintain passenger comfort.Work to install the variable stiffness bushes on the class 450 fleet will begin in September after the London Olympic and Paralympic games.
