This section describes how to manage user accounts when running Simmune using an external database. We distinguish between accounts that are used of administering the database itself and accounts that are used to interact with the Analyzer.
To manage user accounts select the from
the menu. Enter the hostname or IP address of the server
running mongodb. The default user name is 'useradmin', this account is one of the
accounts used for managing the database. A password for this user was generated during
the setup of mongodb, when the bootstrap.sh or
Vagrantfile were run, the password was printed in the terminal
at the end of the setup process.

After a successful login, a new window will appear that allows you to view, create and delete users. If this is your first login the window will be empty, the 'dbadmin' and 'useradmin' do not show up in the list of users. They are only users from the perspective of the database not from the perspective of the Simmune application.

Click the button to create a new user. Create a separate user for the compute processes. Mark the "compute" and other users you've created as members of the Simmune project by checking the box next to the project name. (Setting up multiple projects is not supported yet.)

Once you've created the users, simply close the window and connect to the database by choosing option from the menu. Use a username/password of one of the users you've just created.
