Simulation Groups are used to define a set of simulations belonging together and assign a numerical value to members of a group. This grouping can be used in plots to compare multiple simulations. The Available simulation Groups panel show a list of already defined groups and allows to create or delete groups. The New Simulation Group is used to add setups to a group. Initially, all setups for the currently active model are listed. The colored background groups setups that are compatible and can be combined into a group.
The notion of compatibility between setups is introduced to allow for normalization of simulation results by the results of a setup in the group, e.g. a group might represent a dose response experiment, where each setup corresponds to a specific dose. Then it might be desirable to normalize an observed signaling response to the response generated by the highest dose. The responses not only depend on the dose, but also on the parameter values used for the specific simulation. Therefore, responses at different doses have to be normalized by a response that was generated using the same set of parameters. This imposes the constraint the all setups in a group sample their parameters from the same distribution, using the same sampling method.

Use the arrow buttons in the center to add or remove setups from the group. The New Simulation Group has two columns besides the name of the group. The text in the Label column will be used to label tick marks in plots at positions corresponding to the value column.
