Peggy mangum wedding cake designer

Inspired by the base tier arrangement of the royal wedding cake of the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, petal shaped wedding cakes have made a huge comeback in cake design.
Sweet Bloom, Australia have created a beautiful lace adorned wedding cake below with soft, peach blooms nestling between the crevices of the petal-shaped base tier for an exquisitely feminine wedding cake design.
A second Faye Cahill design features below with fabulous edging surrounding the top of the petal-shaped tier and crowned with an antique style pomander cake topper.
Pleated detailing adds an extra dimension to the petal shaped tier in the wedding cake design below left by Cake Lady Cakes with elegant floral arrangements adding to the towering height of this stylish wedding cake.
Featured below right is one of the supremely elegant designs from Peggy Porschen’s Floral Wedding Cake Collection, with the petal shaped base tier resting on a bed of roses, and accented with climbing floral creepers. Contemporary styling and ultra chic black and white anemones create a stylish monochrome wedding cake below in a beautiful petal shaped silhouette by Pasteles Alma (below left), contrasted with the antique style of the gold trimmed tiers in the black iced design below right by the Bloom Cake Company.

With lemon bridesmaid dresses a key trend for the 2014 wedding season, lemon wedding cakes are set to be a popular request next year.  While lemon-flavoured cake has always been a popular choice for spring and summer wedding cakes, lemon-coloured icing will be the colour of choice for summer brides next year looking for a slightly less-traditional wedding cake.
The textured buttercream effect on the feature cake (top left) can be created using an patterned icing scraper available at all good cake decorating stores.
