Chances of pregnancy in most fertile day

What to do if you want to get pregnant faster. There are only a few days each cycle where you can get pregnant following unprotected intercourse – this is known as the fertile window. The Clearblue Advanced Fertility Monitor is the most advanced home method dedicated to helping you get pregnant naturally.
It is designed to identify your full fertility window, typically up to 6 days each cycle – these are the days when you are most likely to become pregnant following unprotected sex. The graph above shows the estimated likelihood of conception on the day of ovulation and the 5 days before that – these are the High and Peak fertility days that Clearblue Advanced Fertility Monitor will aim to identify by tracking your natural fertility hormones. You can also test for pregnancy using the Monitor and the special Pregnancy Tests, from 3 days before your period is due – the Monitor will estimate when this is. In every cycle there are only a few days when a woman can conceive, so having sex on these days is very important if you are trying to get pregnant.
In a study of 87 women, 4 or more fertile days were identified in 80% of cycles using actual cycle length. The Standard Days Method, the family planning method on which the family planning option CycleBeads is based, identifies days 8 - 19 as the potentially fertile days for women with cycles between 26 and 32 days long.
In terms of your chances of getting pregnant on day 19 of your cycle, it depends on when you ovulated.
As this information relates to the Standard Days Method, if your cycles are in the 26-32 day range then your changes of getting pregnant from intercourse on day 19 are less than 5%. That said, if you wish to avoid pregnancy, it is encouraged that you avoid unprotected intercourse on days 8 through 19! This section on planning pregnancy assumes knowledge of the section on Fertility Indicators - Temperature, Cervical Mucus and changes in the Cervix. Research has shown that the chances of conception are limited to the five days before, and the first day after the temperature rise. For the normal fertile couple, conception is possible at any time during the fertile phase, but intercourse is most likely to lead to conception on days when highly fertile mucus is present, when there is a wet or slippery sensation at the vulva, and the cervical mucus is clear and stretchy like raw egg white. A couple who have not achieved pregnancy after six months (following regular intercourse at the fertile time of the cycle), should see their general practitioner who may advise further investigations.
A post-ovulatory phase of less than about nine days, may indicate a disturbance in implantation. Observing the changes in cervical mucus gives the most accurate means of timing intercourse to optimise the chances of conception. Fertility clinics are now suggesting that the first three months can be used to conceive as there is a high chance of conception during this time.
Although for many women there will be little or no delay in returning fertility, the Oxford FPA study, (Vessey, 1986), found that impairment of fertility was greater among women over 30, particularly among those women who had never had a child. Despite reduced fertility for a year or longer in some cases, he found no evidence suggesting that the pill causes permanent sterility. It is beyond the scope of this page to look at the effects of the contraceptive pill on the return to normal fertility.

Clearblue offers a range of ovulation test and fertility products, all of which monitor luteinizing hormone (LH) in urine to identify the time of peak fertility.
In the days leading up to the LH surge, estradiol levels rise gradually, reaching a threshold that triggers the preovulatory LH surge.
The Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation Test accurately tracks a woman's personal menstrual cycle to identify a wider fertile window than other home ovulation tests, by tracking the changing levels in the urinary metabolites of E3G and LH.
The Clearblue Digital Ovulation Test is over 99% accurate in detecting the presence of LH in the urine sample.14 The Clearblue Digital Ovulation Test identifies the two most fertile days by detecting this pre-ovulatory LH surge.
The Clearblue Ovulation Test is a traditional ovulation test which is an accurate method to identify the LH surge day and improve a woman's chances of conceiving. This fertile window is very individual and it is normal for these days to be different each month.
The hand-held monitor, with its easy to use touch screen, works with simple urine test sticks that accurately detect 2 key fertility hormones – luteinising hormone (LH) and estrogen (E3G).
That’s more days than a standard ovulation test will identify, so you have more opportunities to get pregnant each cycle.
The Clearblue Digital Ovulation Test with Dual Hormone Indicator is the first and ONLY test that typically identifies 4 or more fertile days each cycle.
By identifying more fertile days before ovulation than any with other ovulation test, you have more opportunities to get pregnant and can plan ahead to spend quality time with your partner.
It's the only ovulation test to accurately track not only luteinising hormone, but also estrogen to identify your wider fertility window. With its unique algorithm, the test adapts to your personal hormone profile, so you are less likely to miss your fertile days. If you have ovulation test sticks left after detecting your first LH surge then you can use them with the same test holder to identify your fertile days next cycle, if you're not already pregnant. The Clearblue Digital Ovulation Test helps you maximise your chances of conceiving naturally by identifying your 2 most fertile days each cycle by measuring the changes in level of a key fertility hormone – luteinising hormone (LH). By pinpointing your 2 best days to get pregnant you can be more confident you are trying at the right time. You can see a chart on this page which shows your chances for getting pregnant relative to the day you ovulate. The most fertile day was found to be two days preceding the temperature shift which approximates to peak mucus day.
The most abundant fertile mucus normally occurs one or two days prior to peak day and is a time of very high fertility.
Many women will record a second increase in temperature to an even higher level, several days after the ovulation shift due to an increase in progesterone production following implantation. The Clearblue Fertility Monitor and Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation Test also measure another key hormone, estrogen (estrone-3-glucuronide) to identify the period of high fertility that occurs prior to the LH surge.
The median is 1.5 days, but sperm can survive up to 5 days in the sperm supportive mucus found in the fertile days of the cycle.

Tracking E3G, the urinary metabolite of estradiol, allows women to identify the days of high fertility leading up to ovulation, where conception is also possible, and this also gives them advanced notice of their peak fertile days. The rise in plasma estradiol corresponds closely to the appearance of sperm-supportive cervical mucus.10 Therefore, intercourse during the 6-day fertile period may lead to conception, as sperm can survive for a number of days.
This makes the Clearblue Fertility Monitor the most advanced home method of maximizing the chance of conception.
The probability of conception on different days of the cycle with respect to ovulation: an overview. The key to maximising your chances of getting pregnant each menstrual cycle is to be able to accurately identify your personal fertile days, so you know the best days to try for a baby. This means you can predict your best days to get pregnant in advance, so you can plan ahead and have sex at the right time – you will be maximising your chances of conceiving naturally. It is also the only Monitor that enables you to test for pregnancy, up to 3 days before your period is due, to see if you have been successful in getting pregnant this cycle.
It tracks 2 key fertility hormones to identify your High AND Peak fertility days, so you can plan ahead and have more opportunities to get pregnant.
The clear digital display gives you a Clearblue smiley face when it identifies your best days to get pregnant so you know your body is ready. Peak day, the last day when highly fertile mucus is present, frequently coincides with the day of ovulation.
Monitoring these two hormones helps women identify the fertile days of their cycle enabling them to time intercourse to the days when conception is most likely.
At the time of maximum fertility, the cervix is high, short, straight, soft open and flowing with fertile mucus. There are other fertility awareness methods that can be used by a woman with shorter, longer, or irregular cycles though and which will help you to determine when you are fertile each month.
Both of these methods can be used by women who want to use a natural method, but don't have cycles in the 26-32 day range required to use the Standard Days Method. We can tell you that if you have sex and then ovulate 4 days later, your chances of getting pregnant are about 10-15%. The graph at the top of this page outlines probability of getting pregnant based on when you had intercourse relative to when you ovulated. If your cycles are consistently 29-30 days it is possible that your fertile window could be slightly shorter.
