I received a letter from Tim, in Meridian, Idaho last night, and wanted to share it with you here. Tim recently completed a version of my Cabinetmaker’s Toolchest design and really did an amazing job !
Using some incredible birds eye maple with walnut and cherry accents, he stayed true to the design.
Just finished, it has been an exceptional vehicle for developing and practicing hand tool skills. The till (or tray) is poplar which was intended to be much lighter in color to highlight its natural tones.  I used a Golden Brown Transtint that turned out much darker than expected.
After searching out a number of plans for toolboxes, I ran across this one and Tom’s books.

My father used this combo unit to build countless house renovations and projects along with my captains bed, and two sets of bunk beds, all are still in use 50 years later by his grandchildren.
Just bought a combination similar to your pic, except this monster has a 2 hp AJAX motor running a shaft that powers a 6 inch jointer (Pittsburg) and a 10 inch table saw (Milwaukee). I just acquired the same unit from a friend who bought it at a garage sale several years ago. I commandeered the desk part of an office unit I am building to help hold all the crap I used throughout the day.
This panel is for woods carpentry ideas projects and things you could small woodworking projects for beginners DIY and make using a scrollsaw scroll saw mitre joint saw etc. The slanting fanny and backrest make this easy to human body work bench prosperous to sit in and perfect for group A backyard deck patio or firepit. Back in February 2009, I took several pictures of our shop, with the intention of doing a shop tour. My father purchased the building, which use to be a light aircraft manufacturing plant, in 2001. I planned on using many of the tools out in the shop, like the jointer, planer, and table saw, but gluing, parts cutting, and general furniture building would take place back there.
In 2009, the work flow, layout and assembly tables, storage, hanging racks, and tools were all geared around the production of custom interior shutters.
The equipment in the second photo is located directly behind the wall where the Safety Speed Cut panel saw was located. Behind this picture is a dedicated area for building arched and angled shutters, complete with two assembly tables, two chop saws, a band saw, an oscillating drum sander, a horizontal belt sander, and a drill press. The paint booth is located in the middle of the finishing room, with shutters entering in through two sliding doors from the sanding room, located outside of this picture to the right. In the next entry, I will show how we have been able to integrate a dozen new tools and an entirely different production line into the existing shop with minimal layout changes or expansion.

I got it all taken apart so I'm in the process of cleaning them up and putting the whole thing back together. By the time this post was published, the mess in the pictures was all cleaned up and Jared was a much happier woodworker!
Here's 50 neat beginner woodworking projects that bequeath get you well-off with Whistle is a nice sluttish little project requiring only amp modest knife and a nibble of. Here's 50 great founding father woodworking projects that will get you comfortable with the basics of building with wood.
So call them pocket-sized woodworking projects or simple woodworking projects but you small wood projects for beginners don't have to retrieve of them every bit purely carpentry for beginners. Well, fast forward four years, and that blog entry was still saved as a draft, languishing in the digital abyss.
Before moving in, we made scale cut-outs of every machine and laid out work flow, dust collection, material storage, and work stations. Much of the shop took very little modification to accept the production of custom furniture, but as our custom cabinetry business increased, so did the need for new tools, material storage, building tables, and staging areas, which was a bit more disruptive to the existing layout. There are two bay doors to the left of the picture where all the shutter components are received and stored.
Directly to the left of this picture, there is a pass-thru that leads into a room where the finished shutters are staged, hinged, framed, and loaded.
The shutters are then finished and sent out of the finishing room, through two more sliding doors to the left, into the room where the shutters are prepped for install and loaded. During a recent move to a new residence, I accidentally broke the die-cast front trunnion worm shaft housing (part #NCS-55-S) and also damaged the front trunnion teeth on the bracket (part #NCS-20) to which the arbor is mounted. It says it is a Delta made in Milwaukee. The joiner is 6" number 82-6998 and says Rockwell Power Tool made in Milwaukee.
One reason why I never published it was because within a few months, the shop, and the way I used it, had changed. I originally saw myself as a small, one-man operation, so I set myself up in the corner of the back bay of the shop, in an area that was used as junk storage. It was fun and novel to have my own little area for furniture making, but it didn’t make any sense.
The specialized shutter cutting, drilling, and stapling machines are also outside of the picture to the left.
The sanding room can be seen in the background, complete with two Denray downdraft sanding tables, and a Sand-Pro sanding table.
The finishing of shutters was done using pressure pots and oil-based paints, stains, and lacquers.
On their website you can input your model number and it will list whether they have the manual.

Ane have tried to choose the least intimidating ideas and those needing a small number of materials & tools. Compare to the small cramped shop Shutter Crafts previously operated in, this new shop was down right palatial. All the tools I needed were already set-up and waiting for me in the shop, so why duplicate it just so I could have “my own area”? There are two assembly tables in the middle foreground, louver-hanging and shutter-staging racks in the middle, and a Safety Speed Cut panel saw for sizing shutters in the back. All the extra paints and stains are stored in a separate room, accessed through the finishing room of course, located at the back of the shop. My fathers 26′ fifth-wheel is parked directly behind where this picture was taken, and general clutter and overflow project storage filled the rest of the area.
I couldn't find the table saw manual for the 34-608, but I'm in the process of taking it apart and cleaning it and it looks identical to the 34-600 manual pictures. Both jointer and table saw work.
Now I'm in search of the NCS-20 bracket for my table saw.I am able to adjust the table tilt angle without a working trunnion by manually positioning the table while having someone else tighten the trunnion star wheel. In the end, it tends to act as a catch-all for everything that has touched my hands throughout the day. Alexander Fine Woodworking, our 12,000 square foot shop has been continuously evolving to meet the needs of two different companies. After my first few jobs, I began slowly dismantling the idyllic corner and integrating it into the existing shop, and since then I have kept right on integrating J. Outside of the picture to the right, are several shapers and boring machines to process the shutter rails and stiles.

I loaned this jig to someone, who decided to sell or trade it for another woodworking tool for his woodshop. What do they say? The unique design of having all these units hinged to one table and running from the same motor is a great feature. I have a bunch of literature for the combo, including a 36 page 1951 Homecraft Catalog HC-51, instruction sheets for the afore-mentioned pieces, PLUS Gramp's secret page from a girly magazine (no wonder Gramp spent so much time in the workshop!) I'm cleaning the combo up in order to sell, but would be willing to scan and contribute the printed materials and photos to this website before I do that.
