I have the Craftsman, and while it is pretty handy for close-quarter cutting, it can be tricky to work with.
I looked at all the saws, actually purchased the Rockwell but sent it back after seeing how it worked (it also had a defect). Charlie R { Conductive hook and loop tape was used extensively in the Space Shuttle program for temporarily installed protective covers on the SRB booster segments.
Chris { Rumor has it harbor freight was forced to discontinue the machine for patent issues. This item will be posted through the Global Shipping Program and includes international tracking. In our offices at Miller Woodworking, we decided to go with an upgrade to the hodgepodge of desks and countertops that we’ve carried around during our last two moves as we’ve grown. Now, this saw is not meant to do any kind of extended cutting, like ripping sheets of plywood or things like that, so maybe the thirty inch deep counter top was a bit on the long side. The Skil seems destined for heavy-duty box cutting (and cutting open f*&$ing clamshell packaging).

The Skil checks in at $50, while you’ll generally pay around $100 for the Craftsman and about $120 for the Dremel. Import charges previously quoted are subject to change if you increase you maximum bid amount.
To me, simply hearing the name Dremel  conjures up visions of engraving or die grinding, but the Saw-Max is something different. There was a substantial amount of heat buildup around the motor – enough so you didn’t want to put your hand there for very long. So far she is coming through with flying colors and I think you will be pleased once you get one. But Dremel now offers their own take on the tool, which looks like the 9-months-later result of a steamy night between the Craftsman and Skil.
Note, for example, that the Dremel spins at a whopping 17,000 RPM compared to the Craftsman’s 2,800.
If you reside in an EU member state besides UK, import VAT on this purchase is not recoverable. While it is still in the diminutive tool division, it can step up to the plate in situations where you don’t really need that circular saw overkill. But Dremel sends you a different blade for tile and masonry, so the configuration for that blade must be different too.
Lacking the Craftsman’s huge fence and chunky guard, the Dremel still looks a lot more versatile than the Skil.

Really, the Dremel’s more like a, well, Dremel rotary tool with the blade mounted sideways and a fence on it than like a circ saw. And the Dremel is perfect for those situations you’d normally attack with your rotary tool, but for which you wish you had a fence. I mean, you can use a four inch brush to paint base shoe, but seriously, if you don’t have to, why would you?
It’s lightweight compared to a normal sized circular saw, so it makes cutting in close quarters much more comfortable.
The saw comes with an extra blade so you can flush cut to within a quarter of an inch to the side of the saw.
Next I just turned it upside down and cut through the six inch build up on the underneath side.
Think of this use: setting the saw on its side and cutting off casing or door jambs to within a quarter of an inch from the floor.
