Rummy is a classic tile-based matching card game, typically played with two decks of standard playing cards plus the two Jokers from one deck, making a total of 104 cards. The primary objective is to form sets (groups of three or four cards of the same rank, regardless of suit) and runs (sequences of three or more cards of the same suit in consecutive rank order). Players are dealt a certain number of cards (often 10 or 11) face down, and the remainder forms the draw pile, with the top card face up to start the discard pile. On their turn, a player must either take the top card from the discard pile (which they must immediately try to meld, or add to a set or run they already hold), or draw the top card from the draw pile. After taking a card, the player must discard one card from their hand face up onto the discard pile. The turn then passes to the player on the left. A player can choose to "go out" on their turn if they have formed all their sets and runs and can discard their last card onto the discard pile. The value of each card (or set/run) is counted, typically with face cards (Kings, Queens, Jacks) worth 10 points and Aces worth 1 point. The game ends when a player goes out, at which point all other players' hands are scored, and the player who went out wins the difference in points.
