Classic Rummy is a captivating card game that blends strategy, skill, and a bit of luck. The objective is straightforward: players aim to form sets (three or four cards of the same rank, like three 7s) and runs (three or more sequential cards of the same suit, such as 4-5-6 of hearts). To achieve this, players are dealt a hand of cards and take turns drawing from either the deck or the discard pile, adding cards to their own melds while discarding unwanted cards onto the pile. The turn proceeds with a player drawing, potentially sorting their hand into melds (which can be laid down), discarding one card, and then passing the turn to the next player. The game progresses until one player decides they have enough points in valid melds to 'go out' by discarding their last card, at which point all remaining cards in other players' hands are counted for points, and the player who went out wins the round.
