Carrom is a popular and fast-paced indoor game played across India and other parts of the world, typically on a smooth, circular, and slightly concave board. The objective is to flick discs, called 'carrom men', from the central 'base' area and into one of the four corner pockets, while simultaneously preventing the opponent from doing the same. The game requires skill, precision, and a bit of strategy. Players take turns, using their fingers (without the thumb) to flick a single 'base disc' (or 'koti') and then one or more carrom men, aiming to get them into a pocket. If a player successfully sends a man into a pocket, they score points and continue their turn. If the flick results in the base disc or any men only touching the boundary circle without entering a pocket, the turn is typically lost. Players can also 'scoop' up carrom men from the board into their hand by flicking the base disc hard enough to dislodge them, adding another layer of tactical complexity to the gameplay.
