Speed is a fast-paced, two-player card game demanding quick thinking and memory. To play, each player is dealt a small hand of cards (typically three or five, depending on preference) face down, along with a single card face up in front of them, forming their "market." The remaining deck is placed face down in the center to form the draw pile. On their turn, a player draws one card from the draw pile and must decide whether to play it onto their own market stack or their opponent's. If played on their own market, the card must be placed directly on top of their existing face-up card, maintaining a sequential run of ascending or descending values (ranks only, suits don't matter) and alternating colors (red on black, black on red). If a player cannot make a valid move with their drawn card, they must play it onto their opponent's market stack, placing it on top of the opponent's single face-up card. The goal is to be the first player to run out of cards in their hand.
