The rules of the 29 card game, known as 'Santur' or 'Ghar Ghara' in Hindi, are designed for two players using a standard deck of 52 cards. The objective is to be the first player to reach exactly 29 points. To begin, the deck is thoroughly shuffled and placed face down in the center. Each player takes turns drawing one card from the deck. After drawing, the player looks at the card and announces its face value in points. Number cards (2 through 10) are worth their face value, face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are each worth 10 points, and Aces are typically worth 11 points. Players must keep track of their own accumulated points mentally or on paper. If a player draws a card that causes their total points to exceed 29, they must immediately put that card back into the deck, lose their turn, and the points from that card are not counted towards their total. The game continues with players alternating turns until one player successfully accumulates exactly 29 points, declaring themselves the winner.
