How is this table read? Very simple! Simply measure your leg length/inseam and hip with these instructions. Then remember your numbers in inches and choose the appropriate size. If your leg length or waist circumference lies between two specifications, then it is best to round it up.

Important note: General size charts are a good reference for determining your child's clothing size. However, it is best to use the respective size charts of the brand or retailer from whom you wish to purchase the garment in question.

How to measure pants sizes?

The classic clothing size for pants depends on the figure of the wearer, there is a separate size table for each figure type. The waistband circumference and the stride length can be used to determine which figure type is most suitable for you. The two values are quickly determined with a measuring tape. For the waistband measurement, the tape measure is to be placed at the narrowest point of the waist around the body. The stride length is the measurement taken along the inside of the leg from the crotch down to the foot. For suit pants, the measurement should end just before the floor so that the elegant pants can rest discreetly on the front of the shoe. With leisure pants, half the heel height is sufficient to prevent soiling of the pants during outdoor excursions.

How to convert pants sizes?

All over the world, clothing sizes are handled differently. Each country has its own standards, so comparison is sometimes difficult. In the USA, Great Britain and Australia, for example, the age of the child is given as a reference for clothing size. According to a new system, European clothing sizes are now based on the height of the child in centimetres. However, if you are used to American dress sizes and suddenly need to cope with European sizes, you need a size table that gives the specific measurements. These tables can be in centimeters or in inches, so you may need to convert between the individual units of measurement. However, many tables also offer both units of measurement, so when you look closely you can easily see the correct size of clothes for your child.

How to know that pants fit?

Women know that shopping can sometimes be really exhausting. Especially if you're in a shop where the queues in front of the dressing rooms once again protrude through half the shop. Even worse: There are no changing rooms at all, like at a flea market. For those of you who are just looking for a pair of trousers to match, we have two ultimate tricks to find out if it suits you. And you don't have to try it on.

Trick #1: The Elbow Hack: With this trick, the waistband should be completely closed at the front with buttons and zippers. If this is the case, hold the trousers with one hand and place the other hand and the complete forearm in the waistband. If the diameters of jeans and forearm are identical, the trousers will probably fit.

Trick #2: The neck brace: This trick is just as easy as the first one. For this hack, the waistband of the trousers must be placed around the back of the neck. If the ends of the trousers touch in front, the jeans should fit supposedly. If the ends overlap, the trousers are too big. If they don't touch at all, the trousers are too small. You don't believe that? We have subjected this method to the editorial test and see there: There is really something to the method! The only important thing is that you pay attention to which model you want to measure. If it's a high-waist jeans, it's possible that the ends of the waistband just touch each other. That is because the waist, where the trousers are supposed to sit, is of course narrower than the hip and therefore narrower. The situation is different with hip jeans. The measurements should be optimal for this test.
