Tallahassee, FL - I must admit that my experience at Sugar Rush was a bit of a mixed bag. As a lover of sweet treats, I was excited to try out this popular ice cream shop in the heart of Tallahassee. And while there were some definite highlights, there were also a few drawbacks that left me feeling a little disappointed.

The Good

First and foremost, the milkshakes at Sugar Rush are absolutely delicious! I opted for a "KIDS SIZE" (which is actually quite generous), and it was love at first sip. The flavors are rich and creamy, and the presentation is top-notch. The interior of the shop is also super cute, with a fun candy wall and colorful decorations that add to the overall whimsical atmosphere.

The Not-So-Good

One major drawback was the wait time. With only one person working at the counter, it took over 30 minutes to get our shakes and ice cream. I understand that things haven't quite returned to normal post-pandemic, but a little more staff would go a long way in terms of customer satisfaction.

Another issue was the dry brownie that accompanied my milkshake. Now, I'm not one to complain (too much), but as someone who loves a gooey, dense brownie, this one was just too crumbly for my taste.

The Verdict

Overall, I would give Sugar Rush 3 stars out of 5. While the treats are undeniably tasty and the atmosphere is fun and inviting, the long wait time and dry brownie were definite downers. Perhaps it's worth checking out on a less busy day or during off-peak hours to avoid the crowds.

A Note on Cashless Payment

One final note: Sugar Rush does not accept cash, which may be a bit of an issue for those who don't have a credit card or mobile payment method. However, as I'm all about embracing the modern age (and my love for Florida), I didn't mind the cashless system one bit!

Recommendation

If you're looking for a sweet treat in Tallahassee, Sugar Rush is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared for a possible wait and don't expect too much from the brownies. Overall, it's a fun spot to grab a milkshake or ice cream with friends or family.
