The Cries of Spring
19 December 2023
The world we live in today is a reflection of the chaos and destruction that surrounds us. It's a world where predators roam free, where egos are inflated, and where indifference can be deadly. A world where hypocrisy reigns supreme, and where the sound of silence is deafening.
Who among us has not had enough of this world? Who among us has not felt the sting of injustice and inequality? Who among us has not been driven to the brink of despair by the cruelty and brutality that surrounds us?
And yet, despite all these reasons to despair, there are still those who choose to look away. There are still those who insist on living in denial, pretending that everything is okay when it's anything but.
But what about those of us who refuse to accept this reality? Who refuse to be silenced by the noise of the world around us? Who refuse to be complicit in the destruction of our planet and our communities?
It's time for a change. It's time for us to stand up and demand better. It's time for us to create a world where love and compassion reign supreme, not just for those who are lucky enough to have been born with the right skin color or social status.
As the great poet Rumi once said: "The wound is the place where the light enters you." It's time for us to stop hiding from our wounds and start embracing them. It's time for us to use our pain and suffering as fuel for change, rather than letting it consume us.
So let us rise up and take action. Let us create a world that is just, equitable, and compassionate. A world where every person has the chance to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.
And let us not forget the power of art and creativity in bringing about this change. As the French poet Charles Baudelaire once said: "The greatest masterpiece is art." Art has the power to inspire, to heal, and to bring people together. It's time for us to harness this power and use it to create a better world.
So let us cry out with Rumi: "Let the beauty of what you love be your guide." Let us use our love and compassion as the guiding force behind our actions. Let us create a world that is worthy of our love, and worthy of our tears.
Alors, ça baigne ?

"Les services de l'État estiment que 18,4 millions de français (plus d'un quart de la population) habitent dans une zone exposée à des inondations d'ampleur exceptionnelle." Ouest France, 24 November 2023.
Do you remember the days when the warnings of climate change were dismissed as mere speculation? Do you remember the days when the scientists who sounded the alarm were ridiculed and marginalized?
Well, those days are behind us now. The science is clear: human activities are causing irreparable harm to our planet, and we must take immediate action to mitigate the effects.
But despite this clear and present danger, many of us remain in denial. Many of us continue to insist that climate change is just a myth, or that it's someone else's problem.
Well, let me tell you: it's not someone else's problem. It's our problem, and we must take responsibility for our actions. We must recognize the damage that we have done, and work to undo it.
So let us stop pretending that everything is okay, when it's anything but. Let us stop hiding from the truth, and face the reality of our situation head-on.
As the great environmentalist Rachel Carson once said: "In nature, nothing exists alone." We are all connected, and we must work together to create a sustainable future for ourselves and for generations to come.
Israël-Palestine: L'ignoble engrenage

"Quelle que soit la cause que l'on défend, elle restera toujours déshonorée par le massacre aveugle d'une foule innocente." Albert Camus
What is the purpose of violence and aggression? Is it to defend a just cause, or is it simply to assert one's own power and dominance?
In the case of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, we see all too clearly the destructive power of unchecked nationalism and militarism. We see the devastating effects of war and occupation on innocent civilians, and we see the futility of trying to solve this crisis through violence and aggression.
But what about the other side? What about the Palestinian people who are struggling for their right to self-determination and independence?
Is it not time for us to recognize the humanity of both sides, and work towards a peaceful resolution that takes into account the needs and aspirations of all parties involved?
As Camus once said: "L'offensive revancharde du Hamas contre Israël est une réaction à l'occupation israélienne." Let us not forget the root causes of this conflict, and let us work towards a future where both Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace and prosperity.
The Cries of Spring

As we look back on the past year, we see all too clearly the struggles that we have faced. We see the wars and conflicts that have ravaged our world, and we see the suffering and injustice that has been perpetrated against innocent people.
But as we look to the future, we also see a glimmer of hope. We see the power of human resilience and determination, and we see the potential for change and transformation.
Let us not forget the lessons of history, and let us work towards a brighter future where love and compassion reign supreme. Let us create a world that is just, equitable, and compassionate, and let us use our art and creativity to bring about this change.
As Rumi once said: "The wound is the place where the light enters you." It's time for us to stop hiding from our wounds, and start embracing them. It's time for us to use our pain and suffering as fuel for change, rather than letting it consume us.
So let us rise up and take action. Let us create a world that is worthy of our love, and worthy of our tears.
