Improve and Prevent Overheating of Black Box: A Test Report
As the summer heat becomes unbearable, it's essential to ensure that our equipment is functioning optimally in these hot conditions. In this report, we'll be testing the effectiveness of the LEPA CASINO LPVC4C12P cooler in reducing the temperature of a black box installed inside a vehicle.
Background and Purpose
As we all know, it's common sense to park our vehicles in shaded areas or away from direct sunlight to prevent overheating. However, for the sake of this test, we deliberately chose to park our vehicle in an open area with no shade to simulate real-world conditions. The black box was installed inside the vehicle and allowed to operate for at least 1 hour before we began taking temperature readings.
Initial Temperature Reading
Upon entering the vehicle, we noticed that the internal temperature was a scorching 48°C (114°F), which is roughly 50°C (122°F) with humidity. The temperature sensor was placed in an area not directly exposed to direct sunlight, ensuring accurate readings.
Black Box Temperature Measurement
To measure the temperature of the black box, we established a reference point using the laser pointer on the infrared thermometer display. The current external temperature of the black box was found to be 68.4°C (155°F), which is approximately 20°C (36°F) higher than the internal vehicle temperature.
Cooler Operation
To test the effectiveness of the LEPA CASINO LPVC4C12P cooler, we activated it and waited for about 10 minutes before taking subsequent temperature readings. The VORTEX design of the cooler prevents air from escaping, allowing it to dissipate heat more efficiently than traditional coolers.
Post-Cooler Temperature Reading
After waiting for approximately 10 minutes, we retook temperature readings at the same reference point and found that the black box temperature had dropped to a mere 48.2°C (118°F), a whopping 20°C (36°F) drop from its initial temperature!
