Plot Overview

The episode "A Man Without Land" originally aired on April 9, 1967. Written by Steve McNeil and directed by Don Daves, the story follows Joe Cartwright as he is framed for murder by the foreman of a neighboring ranch, who wants to get his employer's property when the owner can't pay his taxes.

Trivia

Royal Dano, who played Matt Jeffers in this episode, made his third and final appearance on Bonanza. He was also the voice of Disney's audio animatronic Abraham Lincoln in "Great Moments with Mister Lincoln," presented as part of the State of Illinois pavilion during the 1964-65 New York World's Fair.
