"Un ticket aller simple s'il vous plaît". Allow yourself to be swept away by the captivating atmosphere of Voodoo Casino. From New Orleans to Juke & Jive, and from Clarksdale to Missouri, this journey will take you through the Middle East and Deep South of the United States.
Ghalia, a passionate musician with a love for Blues, Rhythm'n'Blues, Rock'n'roll, and Boogie, has traveled extensively throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, and Tennessee. She has written and composed her own songs based on her experiences, travels, and vécu.
After returning to Brussels, Ghalia received a call from her friend Gas, who was looking to form a new group. Big Rud, T-bown, Vinch, and Mister Gas had already achieved success with their formation "Les Males Propres" in the past, having won awards at the Biennales de la Chanson françaises and performed at festivals such as Francofolies de Spa, Lasemo, Senne Sur Sambre, and Un soir autour du monde.
Ghalia has collaborated with the St Louis Blues Society and recorded her first album "Let The Demons Out" in 2014 and 2015 at the Blue Lotus Studio. She has also performed alongside local legends such as Renee Smith on the St Louis Blues compilation 2015, Paul Niehaus (Blue lotus studio), Tom Maloney (Soular Blues Band), and Joe Meyer (batteur de Nikki Hill).
In May and December 2016, Ghalia collaborated with Johnny Mastro & the Mama's Boys (Smokehouse Brown, Dean Zucchero & Brian Brignac) to record her latest compositions in Louisiana. She has also performed alongside them on stage at New Orleans.
After touring extensively throughout the United States, Ghalia was invited to perform at the official program of the Juke Joint Festival in 2016 and 2017 at Clarksdale, Mississippi.
In September 2016, Peter Soldan recorded Voodoo Casino's debut album "Have you seen my woman" at DADA STUDIO with Big Rud on drums, T-bown on bass, Vinch and Mister Gas on guitars, and Bert Ronica on harmonica in a special feature.
The album is composed of 11 original songs that reflect Ghalia's experiences and vécu during her travels. After one year of hard work and fruitful collaboration, the arrangement of the tracks resulted in a unique style album that we will call "Voodoobilly".
Rather than waiting, they released their first EP "Let The Demons Out" in February, which was already a huge success. Remember the sold-out EP Release party at Centre Culturel Jacques Franck.
