Prioritizing Education: Ensuring Quality Education and Favorable Learning Conditions
As the anniversary of the EMTI program approaches, the school's direction has planned a series of activities that will bring together parents, students, pedagogical staff, employees, and the community as a whole. According to Director Andréa de Lima Ortolan, the program aims to present the developed potential alongside students. "We'll have a busy week with presentations, music and theater performances, championships, and we're preparing a friendship party," she explains.
The EMTI has much to celebrate, emphasizes the director. "After all, it's been three years of a model that seeks continuous student development. Our greatest commitment is not only good education but also teaching children to be human beings. We think about education in a more humanized way, committing ourselves to forming a more reflective, critical, and questioning individual," she affirms.
Pedagogical Coordinator Rosangela Leite Penteado adds that the education process in the integral time model goes beyond standardized teaching practices. "We watch children comprehensively in their basic needs and educational needs. That's why we truly believe that only quality education can transform our society for the better."
The school has a planned and dynamic routine, with 106 students being served daily for approximately 10 hours. The school operates in two shifts: the morning shift focuses on the basic curriculum of elementary education, including curricular components of the National Curriculum Parameter (PCN), while the afternoon shift features workshops such as dance, swimming, soccer, choir, culinary activities, artistic and sports activities, social participation activities, language and math classes, music lessons, and computer training. During the shifts, students have a one-hour break to enjoy the playground or watch videos on 32-inch LCD TVs installed in all classrooms.
Throughout the year, children participate in six pedagogical excursions aimed at stimulating students about applied content in the classroom. Through partnerships with the Health Secretary and CAICAF, children undergo visual acuity tests, biometric evaluations, and consultations with experts such as psychologists, dentists, ophthalmologists, speech therapists, physical therapists, and pediatricians.
Daily, students receive five meals: breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner, and are provided with free school transportation for both urban and rural regions. According to the institution's survey, 71% of registered students at EMTI use the free school transportation offered by the City Hall to attend classes.
