Either hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) or hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) is bad for the health of your body. It’s perfectly normal to have the blood sugar (glucose) fluctuation throughout the day, and all people can have it. You need to get plenty of physical activity (regular exercise) to help improve the performance of your insulin (a crucial hormone of your body that has function to maintain and regulate the level of glucose in the bloodstream). And for the symptoms, most symptoms of diabetes also can signal the existence of high blood sugar.
The first major goal of treatment for hypoglycemia is to restore the blood sugar back into a normal level as quickly as possible. And to reach this goal, your doctor may take some quick steps (either with medications or high-food sugar). Certain health conditions that can trigger the overproduction of insulin, such as insulinoma (a kind of tumor that affects pancreas). Additionally, excessive consumption of alcohol also can be potential to lead to hypoglycemia. And for the symptoms that occur, it is closely dependent on the severity level of the hypoglycemia itself.
For mild severity, it can cause increased hunger feeling and may also be followed with vomiting.
Moderate hypoglycemia symptoms may include the presence of abnormal behavior, confusion, short-tempered feeling, blurred vision, and even loss of balance (difficulty walking). And in severe condition, patients can experience unconsciousness, coma or even death if not treated promptly! While hyperglycemia can affect all types of diabetes, hypoglycemia is only pretty common in type-1 diabetes (it is very rare in type-2 diabetes) – as noted before.
In diabetics, it occurs when the cells of the body are less responsive to insulin (type-2 diabetes) or if there is lack of insulin in the bloodstream (type-1 diabetes), as a result glucose cannot be optimally absorbed by cells of the body. Take sugar easily absorbed (1-2 pieces), a glass of juice, coca-cola (not diet), sweetened soft drinks and bread to slow absorption, corresponding to 1-2 units of bread (UP). If the patient is unconscious and thus unable to swallow food with glucose, it is dependent on help from others. In the presence of premonitory symptoms, he will make an immediate measurement of blood glucose and enter the values obtained, these values will be useful to the treating physician to determine insulin doses for future administration. The patient should always have available sugar or a sweet drink and take it at the time of the appearance of premonitory signs.

Mild hypoglycaemia can be managed by the patient himself, but should be avoided wherever possible. Copyright © 2012 Rayur, All trademarks are the property of the respective trademark owners.
Although it is normal to sweat more during hot weather, exercise, and fever, as a means to regulate body temperature, some people are prone to excessive sweating, due to their natural constitution. Although sweating is a healthy reaction of the body to get rid of toxins, if there is no definite cause for excessive sweating, the symptoms can be alleviated through treatment with medicinal herbs. Tormentil root, oak bark, witch hazel, walnut leaves and eucalyptus: Bathe feet and hands in equal parts of these herbs. Nettle leaves, strawberry leaves, sage, walnut leaves: Use 2 parts each of stinging nettle leaves and wild strawberry leaves, with 3 parts each of sage leaves and walnut leaves. Dried hops, nettle, rose, strawberry, walnut and sage leaves: Boil four cups of water, add a tsp. Peppermint, lemon balm and fennel seeds: For anxiety related sweating, drink tea made of lemon balm, fennel seeds and peppermint at bed time. Astragalus: Reduces excess sweating and balances the sweat response by increasing or decreasing sweating as needed.
Few other herbs useful in treating excessive sweating are Asparagus, White Peony root, Osha, Schizonepeta, and Rehmannia. Lavender, Rose or Orange oil: If excessive sweating causes odor problems, add few drops of antibacterial Chinese peppermint oil to the bath water, or add two drops each of rose, lavender or orange essential oil to bath water for a pleasant fragrance. Both can cause many complications that can be potentially life-threatening if left untreated.
But when blood sugar rises higher than normal, it is now considered a problem that must be treated. In people with diabetes, their insulin resistance is the key factor of why they are more vulnerable to develop high blood glucose. Appropriate diet, regular exercise, and some glucose-lowering medicines if necessary can help lower your risk. But getting lack of physical activity in our daily activities can decrease the insulin sensitivity faster. Then when everything is back to normal, doctor usually need to make a long-term treatment to find the underlying cause – and the further treatment is dependent of the cause of your hypoglycemia. In people with type-1, they usually need to take insulin replacement or insulin injection to help control their blood glucose since their pancreas is no longer to produce insulin optimally.

This condition can be potential to cause a deficiency of hormones that help maintain the productions of glucose in the body. The excessive amount of alcohol in the body can block the mechanism of liver in releasing glycogen (stored glucose) into the bloodstream. But in a few cases, it also can occur after meal (postprandial hypoglycemia) if you have had a gastric bypass surgery.
However, increased perspiration is the manner in which the body regulates the water and mineral content, while regulating body temperature and removing toxins from the system through the skin. Other factors that cause excessive sweating are stress, anxiety, obesity, alcohol consumption, hyperthyroidism, hypoglycemia, menopause, AIDS, Hodgkins disease and tuberculosis.
The herb gets into action of suppression of perspiration after about two hours of taking sage juice, tincture or tea, and the effect lasts for days. In general, they are pretty common in diabetics – however, sometime they also can occur in non-diabetics.
Hyperglycemia is pretty common both in type-1 and type-2 diabetes – even it also can occur in gestational diabetes. Before continuing, it is much better to completely understand about the role of insulin for your glucose metabolism in here!
Commonly, it is also often associated with the treatment of diabetes (particularly for type-1 diabetes). But sometime taking insulin replacement can put them at greater chance of getting excessive insulin in the bloodstream. Postprandial hypoglycemia can occur if your body produces too much insulin (higher than your body needs) after meal.
And overall, the existence of both conditions can be a warning sign that there is something wrong with your glucose metabolism. Therefore, it’s important for them to follow the instructions from their doctor on how to take insulin properly.
