5 Things You Probably Do Not Know About The Hands Of Stone Movie Based On Roberto Duran's Career As A Boxer Do Not Miss The Rematch Of The Year! We live in one of the most fun cities in the world with tons of restaurants and bars to pick from. I developed this disease due to my genes, bad eating habits, lack of inactivity, and severe stress.
I never went to doctors, but I would always keep my annual OBGYN appointments.  That year, my routine test came back with high glucose in my urine. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to learning about food, and how to live a healthier life. I learned along the way how to maintain a social and sugar free life (at least most of the time). Hyperglycemia, or an abnormally high level of glucose in the blood, can lead to fainting and diabetic coma.
According to Your Total Health, cardiac problems are one of the long-term side effects of diabetes. The sensation of feeling faint is caused by a reduction in the amount of oxygen reaching the brain. Canadian Diabetes Care Guide is here to help you stay healthy & help you successfully manage your diabetes.
Abbott Laboratories is recalling its FreeStyle InsuLinx Blood Glucose Meters after finding that they display and store incorrect test results for dangerously high blood sugar levels. My work life balance was non-existent.  I was working over 12 hours a day doing things that I loved, but that kept me tied to my chair all day long. I received an urgent call from my OBGYN who actually did the A1C test to determine whether  I was diabetic.  She was not supposed to run that test, but she was an excellent doctor. Being honest helps with the type of medication they prescribe, and to also count it in your plan.
I’ve told restaurants to replace potatoes or rice with salad or grilled vegetables.  If I order ice tea or juices, I ask if it’s already sweetened.
At first this was hard for me, because I felt like I was going to be judged or worse, lectured on what not to eat or drink.
Having a healthy social life is important to me, and I’m not allowing this disease to take the fun out of it (just the sugar).
When a person with diabetes takes too much insulin or medication or doesn't enough eat enough, he may inadvertently lower his level of glucose (sugar) to a dangerous level. When someone with diabetes eats too much of an unhealthy food or skips her medication or insulin injection, her blood sugar can rise to a dangerous level.
Fainting can be a symptom of many of these heart-related conditions because they often interrupt the flow of blood to a person's brain. Your Total Health says that if this damage is neurological, it can trigger fainting spells in the affected person because of the disturbance to the brain's proper function.
We provide information about diabetes, diabetes health care providers, complications associated with uncontrolled diabetes and tools to manage their condition.
Whether it’s patients in British Columbia, diabetics in Ontario, diabetics in Quebec or in Maritimes, the guide helps cover the basics of monitoring, moving towards a healthy lifestyle and diet. I say no to toast when I’m out for breakfast.  If I do have the bread, I ask for whole grain, and I use butter,  a low fat spread or peanut butter. However, I began to tell those who were always around me, and they in turn became very supportive. If I know that I’m going out to dinner, I make really good choices during the day to make up if I “mess” up and eat a little more desert than I should. I’ve gone back to the gym, and signed up to do the 39.3 mile Avon Walk for breast cancer once again, which forces me to walk every week.

According to Your Total Health, this may cause loss of consciousness, resulting in a fainting spell. When someone with diabetes faints and her glucose levels are normal, she should be evaluated for possible heart problems that could be the underlying cause.
Our mission is to help people with diabetes stay healthy and successfully manage their diabetes. I had stopped belly dancing, and all of the physical activities to get everything done at work. We are required to eat some type of healthy carbs – 3 servings a meal (about 45gms), because the opposite of a sugar high is a low, which is equally harmful. They thought twice about the places we picked, and even what they ordered in case we were sharing. The brain needs glucose for nourishment, and the body needs adequate levels to regulate blood pressure. We ate tortillas with all of our meals.  Sometimes our dinners mixed rice, beans and pasta. It was important for me to not allow diabetes to affect my social life, because it’s one of the things that helps with stress and keeps me happy.
I’ve also had some low sugar incidents, and they’ve helped me by ordering juice or something to bring it back up. I’m working even harder on keeping normal A1Cs with food and exercise, and decrease my dosage even more. Fainting happens when the brain is deprived or when blood pressure drops too low, and the problem is compounded with the overrelease of adrenalin and cortisol in reaction to the lack of glucose. Yes, we ate loads of vegetables and fruits, but we also drank liters of soda and sugary drinks every day. Sometimes I even skipped it, ran to the vending machine, or had heavy dinners because I was starving.
I kept a food diary, and I learned to test my blood sugar level before and after meals to learn what to eat and drink. Some friends carry snacks for me when we go out, and make sure they have options for me when I’m invited over their homes for meals. Those of us who stayed late would order Chinese food or anything that was heavy and comforting every night.
I would go home and go to bed, and do the same unhealthy patterns the next day, until my body just gave in.
