You'll never believe the things these crazy people actually thought they could sneak onto an airplane!
These men are all shorter than 5'10", making them some of the shortest men in Hollywood!
From Kabbalah to Scientology, celebrities have been devoting themselves to fads in religious practices for years. Security regulations now require that each checked bag must have external identification with the ticketed passenger's name for cross-checking against the passenger manifest. In general, carry-on baggage must fit under your airline seat or in the overhead compartments.
Matt was born and raised outside Boston, and after his hockey career fizzled at age 13 he decided to become a writer. The idea that Southwest would abandon its long-standing bag-fee policy isn't as crazy as it might sound. And with Southwest's profits starting to lag, it stands to reason that it may want to re-examine its business model.
Of course, doing so would also run the risk of alienating its customers, many of whom have been attracted by the consumer-friendly no-fee policy. James Shillinglaw, editor-in-chief of industry trade publication Travel Pulse, agrees that such a move would do real damage to Southwest's brand. Still, it's worth noting that Southwest's marketing has begun to shift its emphasis away from the no-fee policy.
When Scott Ford was laid off from his job in New York City back in 2008, he headed to JFK International Airport without thinking of anything other than getting on a plane to visit friends in sunny San Diego. And when the Delta Airlines gate agent announced he needed a volunteer to be bumped from the flight because the plane was overbooked, Ford idly lifted his hand and accepted a voucher for a future flight. As Ford accumulated travel vouchers and frequent flier miles by getting bumped from as many flights as possible, he developed a plan to spend every week of 2011 on vacation. While not every traveler has the time and flexibility to voluntarily miss a flight, Ford's experiences offer a blueprint that some fliers can use to garner some of their own free travel.
Ford says that if you want to accumulate vouchers and frequent flier miles, it's much better to build them up with a single airline.
Your likelihood of getting bumped increases when you travel when everyone else does, such as Friday and Sunday evenings or around holidays. Ford books as many connections as possible to increase the chances of being bumped on one or more sections of the trip. Before you book any flight, check the seat map to see how many empty seats are available or call the airline to find out if a flight is nearly full. If you can't always be flexible and offer to miss a flight, try to add some extra time to the beginning or end of each business trip or vacation when a few extra hours at the airport won't matter.

If you're at the gate early, you'll have time to tell the gate attendant and the person at the check-in counter that you're available to be bumped.
Ask the gate attendant as soon as you arrive if the flight is full and let that person know you're willing to be bumped if they need someone. If you do get bumped, it's much easier if you only have a carry-on bag rather than having your luggage pulled from the flight. Always be calm and polite with the gate attendants so you're the one picked if there are several volunteers.
Market indices are shown in real time, except for the DJIA, which is delayed by two minutes. Keeping your carry-on bag measurements within the total dimensions of 9"x14"x22" should allow it to fit in either of those places on most commercial planes. Now he covers retail and all things shopping for DailyFinance, where he’s constantly finding new ways to help readers save money. While Southwest and JetBlue (JBLU) have been the only domestic airlines not to jump unreservedly onto the baggage-fee bandwagon, Southwest has indicated in recent months that it could be wavering. Fees have been a huge profit engine for the industry, with airlines making $3.4 billion on checked bags alone in 2011.
As such, industry analysts suspect that the airline will try to find other ways to gin up revenue. The airline's latest ad campaign drops the "bags fly free" message, and shies away from attacking competitors for charging baggage fees.
Instead of dumping too-heavy bags, the airline will sometimes reduce the plane's weight by bumping one or two passengers, says Ford. They only risk confusing baggage handlers and possibly causing your bags to be loaded onto the wrong plane. But in the wake of Thursday's first-quarter earnings report, in which the airline reported a 40% dip in profits and cited lower-than-expected passenger revenue for March, we're wondering if it might be reconsidering that stance.
If Southwest wanted to boost profits, charging for checked bags would be an obvious way to steer some extra cash in the coffers. That, says the Los Angeles Times, suggests that Southwest could be changing its branding in preparation for eventually following its major domestic rivals. At check-in, make sure each of your bags is correctly tagged with new destination tags, and verify that the baggage tag receipts are inside your ticket envelope before leaving the counter.Itemize the contents (and their value) of your baggage, especially if you are packing anything of significant value. This documentation will greatly assist you if the need to file a claim for lost or damaged luggage should arise. Most airlines also retain the right to limit carry-on baggage even further if a flight is unusually crowded.
Don't forget to include the bags themselves. After packing your bags, weigh each of the bags.

Airlines do determine their own rules for acceptable carry-on baggage size and they can change at any time, so if you are planning to carry-on something unusual, it is always a good idea to check ahead of time with the airline on which you are flying. Finally, recently a few airlines (Spirit Airlines, for example) have announced charges for carry-on bags. Checked baggage fees vary by airline, but there is usually an extra fee for "overweight" bags. We recommend that you check the web site(s) of the airline, or airlines, on which you are traveling, to verify whether or not they charge any fees for carry-on bags. Southwest passengers would be among the hardest hit if IATA's recommendation becomes standard across the industry. If you have to, redistribute the contents among your bags either to avoid overweight bags, or to limit it to one overweight bag to save as much as you can on baggage fees. When packing your carry-on bags, keep in mind the limits on the amount of liquids you can carry onto the airplane.

Multiple checked bags, a possible fee if your bag is "overweight", a fee for your carry-on bag and airline baggage fees can add up quickly. You will incur the fees again on your return home, and they may be higher if you have purchased lots of souvenirs while traveling.Keep all of these baggage fees in mind when booking your trip. Some airlines advertise lower air fares to win the air fare competition, but make up for it with their baggage fees. Baggage fees can vary depending on the type of air fare you purchase, first class versus economy. Also, there may be a discount on baggage fees if paid when you book your air fare, or prior to arriving at the airport for check-in.Weigh your packed bags and re-distribute contents to prevent incurring overweight baggage fees.
