EXAMPLE 1: Suppose that the random mechanism selects you; and that the other three group members made unconditional contributions of 5, 10, and 15 tokens, respectively. The average contribution of these three group members is, therefore, 10 tokens. If you indicated in your contribution table that you will contribute 1 token if the others contribute 10 tokens on average, then the total contribution to the project is given by 5+10+15+1=31 tokens. Each group member would, therefore, earn 0.4×31=12.4 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account. If, instead, you indicated in your contribution table that you would contribute 8 tokens if the others contribute 10 tokens on average, then the total contribution of the group to the project would be given by 5+10+15+8=38 tokens. Each group member would earn 0.4×38=15.2 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account.

EXAMPLE 2: Suppose that the random mechanism does not select you; and that your unconditional contribution is 8 tokens, while those of the other two group members not selected by the random mechanism are 12 and 16 tokens, respectively. Your average unconditional contribution and that of these two other group members is, therefore, 12 tokens. If the group member whom the random mechanism did select indicates in his contribution table that he will contribute 4 tokens if the other three group members contribute on average 12 tokens, then the total contribution of the group to the project is given by 8+12+16+4=40 tokens. Each group member will therefore earn 0.4×40=16 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account. If, instead, the randomly selected group member indicates in his contribution table that he contributes 10 if the others contribute on average 12 tokens, then the total contribution of the group to the project is 8+12+16+10=46 tokens. Each group member would therefore earn 0.4×46=18.4 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account.

EXAMPLE 1: Suppose that the random mechanism selects you; and that the other three group members made unconditional withdrawals of 15, 10, and 5 tokens, respectively. The average withdrawal of these three group members is, therefore, 10 tokens. If you indicated in your withdrawal table that you will withdraw 19 tokens if the others withdraw 10 tokens on average, then the total number of tokens left in the project is given by 80-(15+10+5+19) =31 tokens. Each group member would, therefore, earn 0.4×31=12.4 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account. If, instead, you indicated in your withdrawal table that you would withdraw 12 tokens if the others withdraw 10 tokens on average, then the total number of tokens left in the project would be given by 80-(15+10+5+12) =38 tokens. Each group member would earn 0.4×38=15.2 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account.

EXAMPLE 2: Suppose that the random mechanism does not select you; and that your unconditional withdrawal is 12 tokens, while those of the other two group members not selected by the random mechanism are 8 and 4 tokens, respectively. Your average unconditional withdrawal and that of these two other group members is, therefore, 8 tokens. If the group member whom the random mechanism did select indicates in his withdrawal table that he will withdraw 16 tokens if the other three group members withdraw on average 8 tokens, then the total number of tokens left in the project is given by 80-(12+8+4+16) =40 tokens. Each group member will therefore earn 0.4×40=16 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account. If, instead, the randomly selected group member indicates in his withdrawal table that he withdraws 10 tokens if the others withdraw on average 8 tokens, then the total number of tokens left in the project is 80-(12+8+4+10) =46 tokens. Each group member would therefore earn 0.4×46=18.4 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account.

You have 10 tokens at your disposal.

EXAMPLE 1: Suppose that the random mechanism selects you; and that the other three group members made unconditional contributions of 5, 10, and 15 tokens, respectively. The contribution of the group member who has 10 tokens is 5 tokens and the average contribution of the other two group members who have 30 tokens each is 13 tokens (rounded to the next integer). If you indicated in your contribution table that you will contribute 1 token if the contribution of the group member who has 10 tokens is 5 tokens and that you will contribute 10 tokens if the average contribution of the other two group members who have 30 tokens each is 13 tokens, then your contribution will be (1+10+10)/3=7 tokens. The total contribution to the project is given by 5+10+15+7=37 tokens. Each group member would, therefore, earn 0.4×37=14.8 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account. If, instead, you indicated in your contribution table that you would contribute 4 tokens if the contribution of the group member who has 10 tokens is 5 tokens and that you will contribute 7 tokens if the average contribution of the other two group members who have 30 tokens each is 13 tokens, then your contribution will be (4+7+7)/3=6 tokens. The total contribution to the project is given by 5+10+15+6=36 tokens. Each group member would, therefore, earn 0.4×36=14.4 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account.

EXAMPLE 2: Suppose that the random mechanism does not select you; and that your unconditional contribution is 8 tokens, while those of the other two group members not selected by the random mechanism are 10 and 16 tokens, respectively. The average unconditional contribution of the two other group members who have 30 tokens each is 13 tokens. If the group member whom the random mechanism did select indicates in his contribution table that he will contribute 4 tokens if the group member who has 10 tokens contributes 8 tokens, and he will contribute 7 tokens if the average contribution of the other two group members who have 30 tokens each is 13 tokens, then his contribution will be (4+7+7)/3=6 tokens. The total contribution of the group to the project is given by 8+10+16+6=40 tokens. Each group member will therefore earn 0.4×40=16 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account. If, instead, the randomly selected group member indicates in his contribution table that he contributes 1 token if the group member who has 10 tokens contributes 8 tokens, and he will contribute 10 tokens if the average contribution of the other two group members who have 30 tokens each is 13 tokens, then his contribution will be (1+10+10)/3=7 tokens. The total contribution of the group to the project is given by 8+10+16+7=41 tokens. Each group member will therefore earn 0.4×41=16.4 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account.

The average unconditional contribution of the two other group members who have 10 tokens each is 9 tokens. If the group member whom the random mechanism did select indicates in his contribution table that he will contribute 4 tokens if the group member who has 30 tokens contributes 16 tokens, and he will contribute 7 tokens if the average contribution of the other two group members who have 10 tokens each is 9 tokens, then his contribution will be (4+7+7)/3=6 tokens. You can withdraw up to 10 tokens.

EXAMPLE 1: Suppose that the random mechanism selects you; and that the other three group members made unconditional withdrawals of 5, 20, and 15 tokens, respectively. The withdrawal of the group member who can withdraw up to 10 tokens is 5 tokens and the average withdrawal of the other two group members who can withdraw up to 30 tokens each is 18 tokens (rounded to the next integer). If you indicated in your withdrawal table that you will withdraw 9 tokens if the withdrawal of the group member who can withdraw up to 10 tokens is 5 tokens and that you will withdraw 0 tokens if the average withdrawal of the other two group members who can withdraw up to 30 tokens each is 18 tokens, then your withdrawal will be (9+0+0)/3=3 tokens. The total number of tokens left in the project is given by 80-(5+20+15+3) =37 tokens. Each group member would, therefore, earn 0.4×37=14.8 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account. If, instead, you indicated in your withdrawal table that you would withdraw 6 tokens if the withdrawal of the group member who can withdraw up to 10 tokens is 5 tokens and that you will withdraw 3 tokens if the average withdrawal of the other two group members who can withdraw up to 30 tokens each is 18, then your withdrawal will be (6+3+3)/3=4 tokens. The total number of tokens left in the project is given by 80-(5+20+15+4) =36 tokens. Each group member would, therefore, earn 0.4×36=14.4 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account.

EXAMPLE 2: Suppose that the random mechanism does not select you; and that your unconditional withdrawal is 2 tokens, while those of the other two group members not selected by the random mechanism are 20 and 14 tokens, respectively. The average unconditional withdrawal of the two other group members who can withdraw up to 30 tokens each is 17 tokens. If the group member whom the random mechanism did select indicates in his withdrawal table that he will withdraw 6 tokens if the group member who can withdraw up to 10 tokens withdraws 2 tokens, and he will withdraw 3 tokens if the average withdrawal of the other two group members can withdraw up to 30 tokens each is 17 tokens, then his withdrawal will be (6+3+3)/3=4 tokens. The total number of tokens left in the project is given by 80-(2+20+14+4)=40 tokens. Each group member will therefore earn 0.4×40=16 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account. If, instead, the randomly selected group member indicates in his withdrawal table that he withdraws 9 tokens if the group member who can withdraw up to 10 tokens withdraw 2 tokens, and he will withdraw 0 tokens if the average withdrawal of the other two group members who can withdraw up to 30 tokens each is 17 tokens, then his withdrawal will be (9+0+0)/3=3 tokens. You can withdraw up to 30 tokens.

EXAMPLE 1: Suppose that the random mechanism selects you; and that the other three group members made unconditional withdrawals of 15, 5, and 0 tokens, respectively. The withdrawal of the group member who can withdraw up to 30 tokens is 15 tokens and the average withdrawal of the other two group members who can withdraw up to 10 tokens each is 3 tokens (rounded to the next integer). If you indicated in your withdrawal table that you will withdraw 29 tokens if the withdrawal of the group member who can withdraw up to 30 tokens is 15 tokens and that you will withdraw 20 tokens if the average withdrawal of the other two group members who can withdraw up to 10 tokens each is 3 tokens, then your withdrawal will be (29+20+20)/3=23 tokens. The total number of tokens left in the project is given by 80-(15+5+0+23) =37 tokens. Each group member would, therefore, earn 0.4×37=14.8 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account. If, instead, you indicated in your withdrawal table that you would withdraw 26 tokens if the withdrawal of the group member who can withdraw up to 30 tokens is 15 tokens and that you will withdraw 23 tokens if the average withdrawal of the other two group members who can withdraw up to 10 tokens each is 3, then your withdrawal will be (26+23+23)/3=24 tokens. The total number of tokens left in the project is given by 80-(15+5+0+24) =36 tokens. Each group member would, therefore, earn 0.4×36=14.4 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account.

EXAMPLE 2: Suppose that the random mechanism does not select you; and that your unconditional withdrawal is 14 tokens, while those of the other two group members not selected by the random mechanism are 2 and 0 tokens, respectively. The average unconditional withdrawal of the two other group members who can withdraw up to 10 tokens each is 1 token. If the group member whom the random mechanism did select indicates in his withdrawal table that he will withdraw 26 tokens if the group member who can withdraw up to 30 tokens withdraws 14 tokens, and he will withdraw 23 tokens if the average withdrawal of the other two group members can withdraw up to 10 tokens each is 1 tokens, then his withdrawal will be (26+23+23)/3=24 tokens. The total number of tokens left in the project is given by 80-(14+2+0+24)=40 tokens. Each group member will therefore earn 0.4×40=16 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account. If, instead, the randomly selected group member indicates in his withdrawal table that he withdraws 29 tokens if the group member who can withdraw up to 30 tokens withdraw 14 tokens, and he will withdraw 20 tokens if the average withdrawal of the other two group members who can withdraw up to 10 tokens each is 1 token, then his withdrawal will be (29+20+20)/3=23 tokens. The total number of tokens left in the project is given by 80-(14+2+0+23)=41 tokens. Each group member will therefore earn 0.4×41=16.4 points from the project plus their respective income from their own private account.
