In the first activity, you will be paired with another participant. One of you will be randomly assigned to the role of Player A; the other will be assigned to the role of Player B.<br><br>
Player A will receive §10. §10 is equivalent to $0.50.
<br><br>
Player A must decide how much (if any) of the §10 s/he will send to Player B. Player A can send §0, §5 or §10.
<br><br>
The amount Player A sends to Player B will be multiplied by 4. <br>
<br>
So, for example: <ul>
    <li> if Player A sends §5, Player B will receive §20 (§5 x 4); </li>
    <li> if Player A sends §10, Player B will receive §40 (§10 x 4); </li>
    <li> and if Player A sends §0, Player B will receive §0 (§0 x 4). </li>
    </ul>

Player B will then decide how much of that money to send back to Player A. The amount Player B sends will not be multiplied, so Player A will receive exactly what Player B sends. Player B can keep the total amount s/he receives from Player A, or split it in one of the following ways:

If Player B receives §20 (Player A sent §5):
<ul>
   <li> s/he can keep §20 and send §0 back to Player A, <b> OR</b> </li>
<li> s/he can keep §12 and send §8 back to Player A. </li> </ul>
 If Player B receives §40 (Player A sent §10):
<ul>
    <li> s/he can keep §40 and send §0 back to Player A, <b> OR</b> </li>
    <li> s/he can keep §22 and send §18 back to Player A. </li></ul>

Before Player B knows how much Player A has sent, Player B will have to decide whether s/he will keep the money s/he receives or split it with Player A.

Player A’s earnings from the activity equal the amount s/he keeps, plus the amount Player B sends back. Player B’s earnings equal four times the amount Player A sends, minus the amount Player B sends back.
