The survey is part of an academic study on racial/ethnic diversity and trust. The goal of the study is to understand how likely people are to trust strangers from their same (or a different) racial/ethnic background. The decision-making activity in the survey did not take place in “real time” with other partners. In the first round, your partner either returned a small share of the tripled amount you sent (20%) or a large share (80%). In the second round, your partner’s contribution was based on the decisions participants made in an earlier survey.
