Research Information Sheet

Procedure and Compensation: You are being asked to voluntarily participate in a research study. This study is an experiment examining how individuals make decisions in an economic setting. If you choose to participate, you will receive detailed instructions describing the economic setting and the rules of the experiment. The experiment will last up to 60 minutes. You will be making a series of individual decisions. In addition to receiving $0.25 for participating, you will have the opportunity to earn additional compensation based upon your decisions and the rules of the experiment. The instructions include detailed information how payment will be determined.

If you leave the session, you will not be paid and will bear no further penalties.

Confidentiality: The confidentiality of your data will be protected to the extent allowed by law. Information about your name and participation in this experiment will not be retained by the researcher. Your name will not be reported with any results related to this research. You will not be signing this form.

Compensation you receive as a result of your participation in this experiment may be reported by mTurk for taxation purposes to appropriate federal and state agencies, but the results of the study will remain confidential and will not be forwarded to tax authorities.

We will store your information in ways we think are secure. We will store electronic files in computer systems with password protection. However, we cannot guarantee complete confidentiality.
