Amber Heard claimed Johnny hid his drinking from his children and threatened he could 'f*****g' kill her after he believed it had been exposed during a yacht holiday in 2013

Amber Heard has claimed Johnny Depp hid his drinking from his two children in coffee cups and threatened he could 'f*****g' kill her after believing she had told them while they were on holiday in the Bahamas.

The actress, 36, took to the stand on Wednesday to testify at Fairfax County Court about her relationship with the actor, 58.

Johnny is suing for libel over a 2018 article she wrote in The Washington Post, which his lawyers say falsely implies he physically and sexually abused her while they were together.

Amber told jurors how she went on holiday with Johnny and his two children Lily-Rose and Jack, who were around 14 and 12 at the time, to his private island in the Bahamas on his yacht before he sold it to JK Rowling.

The Aquaman star said to the court Johnny was 'off the wagon again' and didn't want to tell his children so decided to conceal his drinking by using coffee cups.

'Johnny was upset that he had to sell the boat, he was off the wagon again, but he didn't want to tell his kids. He was hiding it from them, putting it in coffee cups and drinking', she said.

Amber said Johnny's behaviour during the trip was erratic and his daughter Lily-Rose had a panic attack, with the actress saying she comforted her as she cried.

She testified Johnny came into the bedroom, asked Lily to leave and accused Amber of 'telling on him and calling him a drunk in front of his kids'.

'I was trying to tell him I was trying to protect you,' she said.

'He was accusing me of making them aware he was drinking again and he slams me up against the side wall of the bedroom by my neck and holds me there for a second and tells me he could f**king kill me and that I was an embarrassment, this whole thing was a joke, I made him feel sick.

'I'll never forget. I'm very, very much in love with this whole family now and he's saying I'm embarrassing to him. That stuck more than I could kill you. The names he was calling me. It hurt, it hurt my feelings.'

Amber claimed both herself and Johnny's two children immediately got off the boat and called a helicopter to leave.

'We take off. I'm holding Lily-Rose, she's crying. Jack ended up not coming with us at the last minute. I remember being really torn about leaving, I felt bad about leaving. I also felt I'd done something wrong. He was mad at me, I wasn't sure what I'd done,' she said.

Amber also told the court that the couple had engaged in a 'whirlwind romance' following the press tour for their 2011 film The Rum Diaries.

“We had to be really under the radar because as Johnny pointed out, the world would blame me and call me a home-wrecker even though I had nothing to do with it,” she said.

“It was beautiful… I felt like this man knew me and saw me in a way no-one else did.

“It felt like a dream, it felt like absolute magic. I fell head over heels in love with this man.”

The court has already listened to four days of evidence from Mr Depp, who said he was “obsessed with the truth” and claimed that it was he that was the victim of domestic abuse.

The trial continues.
