In this study, you will be randomly and anonymously paired with another
participant. Your pair will remain together throughout the entire experiment. You will be randomly assigned a role at the beginning of the experiment as either Hunter 1 or Hunter 2, and the role
remains the same for the entire experiment. Your role will be assigned after you click next button.
The experiment consists at least 5 rounds, with 45% chance having an additional round after round 5, but no more than 10 rounds.
Each of you simultaneously and privately chooses whether you want to
hunt stags or hunt hares in each round. Below is an example of the matrix you will encounter throughout the experiment.
You only have 20 seconds to make your choice in each round. If you do not make a choice by 20 seconds, the system will choose to hunt stag for you.
For your convenience, everything in the matrix associates with Hunter 1 will be in red and Hunter 2 will be in green in this experiment.
Your payoffs will be determined by the choices of both as below:
Each cell stands for a payoff corresponding to the interaction. For example, the cell in first column of first row stands for the payoff if Hunter 1 chooses to hunt stag and Hunter 2 chooses to hunt stag. In each cell, the amount to the left is Hunter 1's payoff and the amount to the right is Hunter 2's payoff. where X=2 for the first three rounds and X=3 for the rest of the experiment. We will remind you when X changes.
