Interpersonal communication with others is vital to our individual well-being as well as relationships. In times of difficulty, interpersonal communication with our friends and peers often serves as a way in which we seek out support (Goldsmith, 2004). Examining how individuals talk about their troubles to each other in academic settings is one way in which researchers are able to learn more about the dynamic ways in which people cope with their difficulties at school.
In this study, we are interested in learning more about how you would converse with your peers about academic frustrations, and the kinds of people that you will want to continue interacting with in the future based on your past interactional experiences with them.
We kindly ask
for your full attention for the next 35-40 minutes. Furthermore, your most honest and
intuitive responses when sharing your experiences will be greatly appreciated.
Remember: All your responses in this study are completely ANONYMOUS and
cannot be traced back to you. We hope only to have your most truthful responses and
opinions throughout the course of this study.
