<p>In this task, you will be randomly matched with another participant. Neither of you will ever know the identity of the other. The money that you earn will be paid to you at the end of the session, exactly according to the rules explained below.</p>
<br>

<p>Two possible monetary payment options are available to you and the other participant in this task. The two payment options are:
<br>
<br>
<b>Option A: $2.50 to you and $2.50 to the other participant</b>
<br>
<br>
<b>Option B: $7.50 to you and $3.00 to the other participant</b>
<br>
<br>
The other participant will be the one choosing either option A or option B. The only information they will have is information sent by you in a message. That is, they will NOT know the monetary payments associated with each choice.</p>
<br>

We will ask you to choose one of the following two possible messages to send to the other participant:
<br>
<br>
<b>Message 1: "Option A will earn you more than Option B."</b>
<br>
<br>
<b>Message 2: "Option B will earn you more than Option A."</b>
<br>
<br>
We will show the other participant your message and ask them to choose either A or B.
<br>
<br>
<p>Once again, the other participant will determine the payments for both of you in this task. However, they will never know what payments they would have received in the option not chosen (that is, they will never know whether your message was true or not). Moreover, they will never know the amounts paid to you according to any of the options, only their own payment. We will pay the two of you according to the choice made by the other participant, which will be based on the message you send to them.</p>

You will make your decision on the next screen. You will have a time limit of 15 seconds.

<b> If you do not make your decision within the time limit, you will not receive payment for this portion of the experiment.</b>
