Unfortunately, you did not answer the comprehension questions correctly. Please return the study on Prolific
We thank you for your time.
At least one participant did not have reliable audio during the partner check. Please close the study now and do not continue. Also please close the video window if it is still open.
You will receive a partial payment.

Thank you very much for taking part in this experiment. The purpose of this study was to investigate how people learn about and evaluate the value of objects in their environment, both alone and together with another person.
If you have not done so already - please close the video window.
Across the session, you completed individual and joint phases of a game in which Pac-Man collected colored fruits. Different fruits were associated with different point values. We systematically varied:
Our aim is to understand how people form value estimates, how they coordinate actions with others, and how shared activity may influence joint decision-making and confidence. This study is part of a larger project investigating how people form, communicate, and revise beliefs in social environments.
During the joint phases, audio and video were temporarily active so that you could see and hear your partner. These recordings are stored securely, used only for research purposes (e.g., analysing communication, timing, and coordination), and will be fully anonymized. No identifying information will be included in publications or shared outside the research team. Only trained researchers have access to the raw recordings.
Your bonus payment is based on the value of the fruits collected during the joint phases of the experiment. We only take into account trials in which both participants had the same fruit value (to ensure fair payment regardless of belief differences). This bonus will be calculated and paid to you on Prolific within approximately one week.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the lead researcher (Luke McEllin): mcellinl@ceu.edu.
