You are invited to participate in a research study conducted by a researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). Participation is voluntary.
This study examines how people use information when making numerical judgments and decisions, including how they combine information they generate themselves with information they receive from others.
You complete a brief multi-round online task, making numerical guesses based on information you see. Some rounds may include information or guesses from another participant. You also complete a short questionnaire, and you may skip any question.
You participate online with other participants from your organization, and you may be paired with colleagues you know or recognize through your work.
About 25 to 30 minutes.
This study involves minimal risk beyond everyday computer use. There is no cost to you for participating in this study.
Your name and job title are used only to administer participation and will not be retained with your study responses. Your name will be deleted from all data records. Responses will be used for research purposes only and analyzed in aggregate or de-identified form. Data are encrypted and stored on password-protected systems. Individually identifiable responses will not be shared with your employer or any third parties. Findings may be shared with the participating organization only in a form that does not allow individuals to be identified.
