    <h2 class="task-page-heading">Instructions</h2>
    <p><strong>Task.</strong> On each trial, you will complete a game as the <strong>column player</strong> and choose between <strong>Left</strong> and <strong>Right</strong> options. A different participant will be the <strong>row player</strong> and choose between <strong>Top</strong> and <strong>Bottom</strong>. Together, the two choices determine both participants' points.</p>
    <p><strong>Future matching.</strong> After this study, we will conduct a series of experiments with new participants. In those experiments, the new participants will respond to these games as row players. Your response to a game may be used in more than one future experiment and may be paired with responses from more than one future row player.</p>
    <p>Neither you nor a future row player will know the other player's choice when making a decision. Future participants will receive no personal information that identifies you and cannot trace the response back to you.</p>
    <p><strong>Earnings.</strong> In addition to the participation payment stated on Prolific, your responses will be matched with Top or Bottom choices made by new participants in the near future. Each matched pair of choices will jointly determine both participants' points according to the matrix. Each point is worth £0.01, so 50 points are worth £0.50. Each time one of your responses is selected for a pairing, you will receive the corresponding bonus payment.</p>
    <p><strong>Response.</strong> Press <strong>F</strong> to choose Left or <strong>J</strong> to choose Right. The task is self-paced, so there is no response deadline. Please pay close attention to each matrix and make your choice carefully.</p>
    <p class="fullscreen-reminder">Please maximize your browser window and then press F11 to enter full-screen mode. Keep the window maximized and in full-screen mode throughout the experiment.</p>
