In each part, you will be assigned into a group of five participants. Each part consists either one round or five rounds.

There is a common pool that is passed from one group to the next. The pool can be harvested to generate earnings.

The common pool contains 100 points initially from the Group 1, and each person can take out between 0 and 20 points in total.

Each person in your group decides how many points to take out of the pool each round.

For each point you take out, you will get 50 cents SGD (1 point = 50 cents) at the end of the experiment. You will know more about payment at the end of the instruction.

By the end of each part, if your group takes out equal or less than 50% of the total points that your group receives from the previous group, the pool will be refilled to the initial amount and pass to the next group.

If your group takes out more than 50% of the total points that your group receives initially, the pool will be over-exploited, and only 70% of the initial pool will be passed to the next group.

If your group passes the pool with less than 10 points to the next group, the pool will be set to 0 and the next group will not have chance to earn money.

Here is example 1.

In the beginning the common pool contains 100 points.

Group 1 extracts more than 50 points (50% of 100), and the pool is over-exploited.

Group 2 receives a pool with 70 points (70% of 100), and each person in Group 2 can take out between 0 and 14 points.

Group 2 extracts more than 35 points (50% of 70), and the pool is over-exploited.

Group 3 receives a pool with 49 points (70% of 70), and each person in Group 3 can take out between 0 and 10 points.

Here is example 2.

In the beginning the common pool contains 100 points.

Group 1 extracts less than 50 points (50% of 100), and the pool is refilled.

Group 2 receives a pool with 100 points, and each person in Group 2 can take out between 0 and 20 points.

Group 2 extracts less than 50 points (50% of 100), and the pool is refilled.

Group 3 receives a pool with 100 points, and each person in Group 3 can take out between 0 and 20 points.

Here is example 3.

In the beginning the common pool contains 100 points.

Group 1 extracts more than 50 points, and the pool is over-exploited.

Group 2 receives a pool with 70 points (70% of 100), and each person in Group 2 can take out between 0 and 14 points.

Group 2 extracts less than 35 points (50% of 70), and the pool is refilled.

Group 3 receives a pool with 70 points, and each person in Group 3 can take out between 0 and 14 points.
