The Task

This experiment involves a series of tasks which you will be asked to complete. You will be presented with a number tile and will be asked to count how many times either the number 1 or 0 appears, and then enter your answer into the box provided. Please pay close attention to whether the question asks you to count the number of 0's or 1's because it can be different for each task. There is no time limit to complete each task so take as long as you need until you are confident in your answer. You will not be notified in the moment whether or not your answer was correct When you finish, please remain quiet until it is announced that everyone is finished.

Payoffs for the Task

The experiment costs some participants to play (in terms of points, not real dollars), while others will be compensated to play (also in points), call these your "endowment." Each participant's endowment is randomly assigned.
Your endowment for this experiment is {{ endowment }}.

For every task completed correctly, 15 points will be awarded. There will also be bonuses for the players who answer the most questions correctly. The player with the most answers correct will get a bonus of 80 points. The second most answers correct, yields a bonus of 60 points. The third most answers correct yields a bonus of 40 points. Therefore, the total payoff from this experiment is as follows:
Total Payoff = {{ endowment }} + (# of correctly completed tasks)*15 + Bonus for finishing in the top 3

Reward

Everyone will be ranked in terms of their total payoff. Those who finish in the top 3 will not have to do the paper summaries for this experiment. Those in the bottom 3 will have to summarize 2 papers, and everyone else will just have to summarize one paper. In the case of ties, say 3 people are tied for first, then those 3 people will be the "top 3" and the total bonus will be divided among them. The same process will occur depending on how many people are tied and where they place.
