Once the lottery selection task begins, you will be presented with information about different lotteries that can be played. Lotteries will be presented in pairs – Lottery A & Lottery B – and you will select one of the two lotteries from each pair that you would like to play. You will repeat this process for a total of ten pairs of lotteries.

The information presented to you for each lottery will indicate: (1) the range of possible outcomes of the lottery, and (2) the likelihood of each outcome.

Information for a sample pair of lotteries is presented below to allow you to become familiar with the type of information you will see during the actual lottery selection task:

As previously mentioned, you will be presented with ten pairs of lotteries and will select one lottery from each pair that you would prefer to play. Once you have finished making all ten selections, you will complete a post-task questionnaire, and will then learn the outcomes of your selected lotteries and your compensation for the experiment.
