The second part of the experiment consists of 2 groups and 20 periods of token allocation tasks within each group.

Endowment

At the beginning of this part, the two groups are randomly assigned to two ranges of uniformly distributed numbers, [x, y] and [a, b], respectively. For example, the WCOB group is randomly assigned to the range [x, y] and the ENGR group to the range [a, b], or vice versa. These two ranges are not equal and one group will receive a higher endowment than the other. Which group has the higher endowment is randomly chosen at the beginning of the experiment. Each participant will then receive a number, call endowment, that is randomly chosen from their range for that period. Note all numbers have equal probabilities to be chosen. Although the endowment you receive may vary across period, everyone within your group will receive their endowment within the same respective range.

Allocation Decisions

Each participant will need to decide how much of her/his endowment to allocate to the group account and how much to keep for herself/himself. For each token a participant keeps, s/he earns 1 token. For each token contributed to the group account, it will be multiplied by the group’s multiplier factor and then divided equally among all the members in that group. Thus, your payoff in each period is calculated as:
Tokens you keep + []
