TITLE OF RESEARCH: Large Matching Markets

Key information about the study:

Your informed consent is being sought for research. Participation in the research is voluntary.

The purpose of the research is to help social scientists better understand how people make decisions in matching environments.

The expected duration of your participation is 60 minutes, but it may take more or less time to complete the study.

Here are the procedures you will be asked to follow. You will be asked to make decisions for which you will be paid. At the beginning, you will receive detailed and accurate instructions describing how payments will depend on decisions made by you and other participants. The study will take place on Prolific and will resemble an interactive computer game.

The reasonably foreseeable risks or discomforts to the subject as a result of participation: There are no known risks associated with participating in this study beyond those of everyday life.

The benefits to the subject or to others, e.g., society that may reasonably be expected from the research: There are no benefits to you other than the monetary compensation you will receive. The research will help social scientists better understand how people make decisions in matching environments, which will inform the design of policy in various contexts.

Confidentiality:
All records from this study will be kept confidential. Your responses will be kept private, and we will not include any information that will make it possible to identify you in any report we might publish. Research records will be stored securely on password-protected computers. The research team will be the only party that will have access to your data.

Voluntary Participation:
Participation in this study is voluntary, and you may choose to withdraw at any time by exiting the interface. If you withdraw, your data will not be included in any subsequent analysis.

Compensation:
Your participation will be compensated. By participating in the experiment, you are entitled to a participation fee of {{session.participation_fee}}. This amount will be added to any amount you earn, which will depend on both your decisions and others’ decisions.
