The aim of the task is to catch as many fish as possible.
One of the lakes has more fish than the other overall, although the payoffs will fluctuate each round. The lakes remain the same throughout the entire fishing vacation, but you can choose a different lake in each fishing round.
Remember there's plenty of fish in both lakes, so the amount of fish isn't affected by your (or anyone else's) fishing.
You will earn a bonus of £0.01 for every 5 fish you catch, with the maximum of £1 for 500 fish.
You will first have 5 rounds to get familiar with the task and get some information about the populations of fish in each lake. Then, you will meet an expert player who will give you advice. This player is already familiar with the lakes, but they are also observing the new fishing outcomes alongside you, learning more about the lakes in each round.
Note that the amount of the fish in each lake might be influenced by the season, the weather and other conditions such as the water temperature, the presence of nutrients in the water etc, but, neither you or your advisor have access to that information. Both you and the advisor can only observe the outcome of each fishing round.

You will then be directed to two questionnaires. After completing both questionnaires you will receive your completion code, along with the number of fish you caught and your bonus amount.
