<h3>Introduction and Background Information</h3>

<p>You are invited to participate in a research study. Alexander Hough, M.S., of Wright State University is the principle investigator conducting the study. Approximately 280 subjects will be invited to participate.&nbsp;</p>

<h3>Purpose</h3>

<p>The purpose of this study is to investigate how individual differences affect a person&rsquo;s behavior during a task that involves the coordination of a group.</p>

<h3>Procedures</h3>

<p>In this study, you will be asked to complete two different activities. First, you will complete a series of tasks where you play a coordination game, and then fill out a few questionnaires. The experiment will be conducted in one session and last between 30-40 minutes.</p>

<h3>Potential Risks</h3>

<p>There are minimal risks in this study. These risks are possible discomfort and eyestrain from looking at a computer screen for up to 40 minutes.</p>

<h3>Benefits</h3>

<p>There are no direct benefits for participating in this study. The knowledge gained in this study could be used to better understand and improve the cooperation of groups in professional settings.&nbsp;</p>

<h3>Compensation</h3>

<p>You will be paid for your time and inconvenience while you are in this study <strong>(</strong>Wright State Psychology Department research funds<strong>)</strong>. Payment will be $3 with a bonus contingent on performance (up to $2). If you were to leave or choose to stop participating before the study is completed, your compensation will be pro-rated based on the base pay of $3 and the amount of the experiment you completed. You will also receive the earned portion of the performance bonus (up to $2). &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<h3>Confidentiality</h3>

<p>Total privacy cannot be guaranteed.&nbsp; We will protect your privacy to the extent permitted by law.&nbsp; If the results from this study are published, your name will not be made public. Once your information leaves our institution, we cannot promise that others will keep it private.&nbsp;</p>

<li>The Wright State IRB and Office of Research and Sponsored Programs</li>

<h3>Security</h3>

<p>Personal information will be kept on a password protected computer and in a locked file cabinet in a locked office on campus at Wright State University</p>

<h3>Voluntary Participation</h3>

<p>Taking part in this study is voluntary. You may choose not to take part at all. If you decide to be in this study you may stop taking part at any time. If you decide not to be in this study or if you stop taking part at any time, you will not lose any benefits for which you may qualify.&nbsp;</p>
