{% extends "global/Page.html" %} {% load otree %} {% block title %} Welcome to the experiment! {% endblock %} {% block content %}
You will be presented with 20 rounds of 1-2 stage gambles. The winnings are not cumulative: only one gamble’s outcome will be randomly selected and become your true payment at the end. Each round will have either one or two stages.
You will start each round with the same initial $6 amount. In Stage 1, you will have a choice between entering a lottery which will pay a random amount from an interval specified each time or taking a certain amount. If you take the certain amount, the round is over. This certain amount is recorded as the outcome of the round, and you move to the next round. However, if you choose to play the lottery, after the lottery shows the outcome you will enter Stage 2. In Stage 2, you get a chance to either keep the amount that was just drawn in Stage 1 or enter another lottery and win a new amount. Whichever option is chosen determines your final winnings for that round. You then move to a new round and start again with $6 independently from the previous outcomes.
You can choose to practice for 1-3 rounds or proceed directly with the real gambles. NB: The outcome of a round will never be lower than $4 and can reach up to $8.
