Welcome to this experiment!
This experiment is part of a research project on decision making. In the experiment, you can earn money with the decisions you make. Your earnings depend on your own decisions, decisions of other participants, and random events. How precisely your earnings depend on these decisions and events is described in the instructions. Therefore, it is important that you read the instructions carefully. At the end of the instructions, you have to answer comprehension questions, which you have to answer correctly to participate in the experiment.
Important: This experiment does not involve deception. That means that all instructions you receive are truthful.
The experiment consists of two parts, named Part 1 and Part 2. {% if player.randomized_order == 13 %} In Part 1, {% endif %} {% if player.randomized_order == 31 %} In Part 2, {% endif %} you can earn points with the decisions you make. These points are converted to Euro using the following exchange rate:
100 Points = 1 Euro
At the end of the experiment, the computer randomly selects either heads or tails of a virtual coin to determine your final earnings. If heads is selected, your final earnings are equal to 150 points plus the number of points you earned in {% if player.randomized_order == 13 %} Part 1. {% endif %} {% if player.randomized_order == 31 %} Part 2. {% endif %} If tails is selected, your final earnings are equal to 150 points plus the number of points that were allocated to you by another participant.
Important: To be paid your final earnings, you have to complete the entire experiment.
Once you have completed the entire experiment, you will see the message "You may now close your internet browser." From that moment onwards, your final earnings will be transferred to your IBAN within 10 working days.
