You are invited to participate in a web-based online survey on Building social capital through the Mastercard foundation scholarship program at the University of Pretoria. The survey wants to evaluate whether the scholarship program has had an impact on the levels of social capital among its scholars through the different activities that the program engages students during the scholarship period. This is a research project being conducted by <strong>Eric Muhulu Chikwalila</strong>, a MSc. student from the department of Agricultural Economics, Extension and Rural Development, faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, University of Pretoria.  The survey should take approximately 60 minutes to complete.

<p><strong>Participation</strong></p>
Your participation in this survey is voluntary. You may refuse to take part in the research or exit the survey at any time without penalty. You are free to decline to answer any question you do not wish to answer for any reason.

<p><strong>Benefits</strong></p>
You will receive a show up fee of 50 Rands worth of airtime plus additional Rands that you are likely win or lose from participating in the games in this research study. However, your responses may help us learn more about the effects of international interventions such as the Mastercard foundations scholarship program helps in building scholar’s social capital.

<strong>Risks</strong> <br>
The possible risks or discomforts of the study are minimal. You may express your discomfort at any time as you answer the survey questions.

<br><strong>Confidentiality</strong><br>
Your survey answers will be sent to a link on Heroku Hub where data will be stored in a password protected electronic format. We will ask for your south African preferred cell number for sending the rewards after the survey. The survey will not collect identifying information such as your name, email address, or IP address. Therefore, your responses will remain anonymous. No one will be able to identify you or your answers, and no one will know whether you participated in the study or not. No identifying information would be included in any publications or presentations based on these data, and your responses to this survey will remain confidential.
