            Dear Participant,
        </p>
        <p align="justify">
            We invite you to participate in a survey that deals with society, politics, and technology. The survey is
            divided into two sections. In one, you are asked to answer questions relating to events depicted in an
            article included in the survey. In the other, you are asked to answer questions pertaining to your
            preferences, knowledge of topics relevant to the survey, and demographic information. We expect that this
            survey will take approximately nine (9) minutes.
        </p>

            The survey is anonymous and we will not ask you for any identifying details.
        </p>
        <p align="justify">
            During the survey, you may be asked to think about distressing content. If you have experienced any kind of
            recent trauma, or if you think you will not be able to think about unpleasant events, please end your
            participation in the survey immediately.
        </p>
        <p align="justify">
            Please note that your participation in the survey is voluntary and you can refuse to participate in the
            survey at this moment or whenever you wish.
        </p>

            At the end of the survey you can contact the research team via Prolific to receive an explanation of the
            survey. When the study is complete, we will be happy to share the results.
