The Secretary of Defense oversees the Department of Defense (DoD). The DoD is an executive department of the Idemorean government. Its mission is to provide the military forces needed to deter war and to safeguard national security. To date, the priorities of the DoD are:

• To guard against internal and external threats to national peace and security
• To uphold sovereignty and territorial integrity
• To support socio-economic development and disaster recovery

In order to meet its mission, the DoD recognizes the need to not only address conventional threats, but emerging ones as well. Consequently, it established the Idemore Cyber Command (ICC) to allow it to operate within this new domain.

The ICC provides both offensive and defensive cyber capabilities in support of its mission and Idemore’s overall strategic objectives. These include the ability to compromise and control an adversary’s cyberspace, gather intelligence on known and emergent threat actors, and to ensure the security of the military’s assets. The ICC may cooperate with the DITS should an incident pose a threat to national security.
