You are now randomly and anonymously paired with another participant.

Each of you simultaneously and privately chooses one of the available decisions, C, D, or P. Your payoffs will be determined by both of your decisions as given in the payoff table below.

In each cell of the payoff table, the number to the left is your payoff and the number to the right your partner's payoff.

D {{ dcrow }}, {{ dccol }} {{ dd }}, {{ dd }} {{ dprow }}, {{ dpcol }}
P {{ pcrow }}, {{ pccol }} {{ pdrow }}, {{ pdcol }} {{ pp }}, {{ pp }}

Example: if you choose D and your partner chooses C, you will receive a payoff of 3 and your partner will lose 2.

You will interact in this way with your partner for many rounds. The number of interactions is determined by a random mechanism. The probability that there will be another round is 3/4. Therefore, you will interact another round with your partner with probability 3/4. Your behavior will have no effect on the number of rounds. Every round will follow the same pattern of two steps: first you make your decisions, and then you view the results.
