Student Researcher: McKay Jones
Description of the research
You are invited to participate in a research study designed to better understand how people make decisions in a market setting. This study will include other participants from Prolific interested in participating in behavioral experiments. This research will be conducted on the Prolific platform by researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
What will my participation involve?
If you decide to participate in this research, then you will be asked to make decisions in a business scenario. You will also be asked to answer some questions about your decisions. Your participation will last approximately 20 minutes.
Are there any risks to me?
Your participation in each session will remain anonymous. You will be asked to provide your Prolific ID, but that information will be stored on a secure server that is accessible only by authorized researchers. The researchers will make no attempts to tie your Prolific ID back to you.
Are there any benefits to me?
There are no expected direct benefits to you from participation in this study.
Will I be compensated for my participation?
Following the completion of data collection your cash payment will be determined. You will earn at least $4 for successfully completing the study. You may earn additional compensation, but the exact amount will depend on decisions that are made during the study.
How will my confidentiality be protected?
Confidentiality will be protected by using the Prolific platform to process payment following the conclusion of all experimental sessions. All information collected as part of the research will not be used or distributed for future research studies. Only authorized researchers will have access to the data.
